5/20/2010 |Note From Director of Lower School

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the last week of May.  Where did the month go?

We have been very busy getting ready for the play, “Wizard of Oz”.  The children are very excited and so are the many parents who gave of their time, talent and treasure.  Come out and support everyone who has worked so hard, especially the children.

The Spring Concert was beautiful, and the children sang their hearts out.  Thanks to Mr. Aragon and all the teachers whose participation made it all happen.

Mrs. Torre displayed the children’s artwork in Conlon Hall during the Spring Concert.  We are so proud of each child’s accomplishments.  Thanks to Mrs. Torre for all her hard work as well.

The Upper Campus students will present the play, “Beauty and the Beast” at the New Milford campus this Friday and Saturday evening at 8 PM and Sunday afternoon at 3 PM.  We hope you will be able to come to enjoy the children and their many talents.

Friday, May 28th is Field Day.  You will be receiving more information regarding this fun-filled day.

Please be aware that all tuition must be paid before Pre-K and Kindergarten students can graduate and before the older children may take exams, receive report cards, or receive a diploma.

We ask all parents to continue spreading the good news about our school so that more families will come to register.  Gossip is negative and never brings positive results.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

                                                                                    Sincerely,

Sister Madeline Mary Hanson SSND

Dear Parents,

Today we celebrate the great feast of the Ascension when Jesus ascended into heaven after the Resurrection celebrated forty days ago. It is a Holy day of obligation for all baptized Catholics. The children attended the 9:00 Mass.

Tomorrow is the Spring Concert at 1:00PM as well as 7:00PM. All the children should go to the Pre-K rooms. We ask that the children come for the evening show many parents do not bring them at night. They have Saturday to rest up. Cafeteria will open from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

We are very proud of our children and families that donated to St. Jude’s Math-a-thon. We raised $2,268.98. The prizes will be ordered and given out as soon as they arrive.

Next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Upper School students are presenting the play “Beauty and the Beast”. They have worked long and hard so please come out and support them.

The Lower Schools play, “Wizard of Oz” will be presented on Thursday May 27 in Conlon Hall at 7:00PM. It is amazing what the younger children have done with their hard work. Come out enjoy it and support them. Miss Vogel has done an outstanding job Along with the many parent volunteers.

May 6, 2010

Dear Parents,

We welcome May with its warm weather!

I apologize for not sending a letter for the past two weeks, but, between meetings and conferences, it became impossible.  I would like to bring you up to date.

I want to thank all the Pre-K and Kindergarten parents and students who made our Pre-K and Kindergarten Showcase on April 17th a wonderful success.  The children made such an impression that eight families registered for our school that day, and we have had many more interested families since then.

On Friday, April 23rd, the children went on their class trip to see Disney’s “Oceans”.  It was a wonderful movie and taught the children all about the marvels of the sea.  They were able to see many animals and fish that they have studied about.  There were many others which were new to all of us.  I am sure they shared the experience with you.

Progress Reports will be given out on Monday, May 10th.  Please look for them.  We also have a half day tomorrow, May 7th, because of the faculty meeting. Please pick up your children promptly at 12:00 or they will be sent to aftercare.  Please pay the $10 per hour fee when you come for your child.

I hope many of you will be able to attend the annual Tricky Tray tomorrow, Friday, May 7th.  It will be a wonderful evening of good food and good company, and maybe you will even be a winner! Don’t forget to purchase your tickets as soon as possible through the school office.

On Tuesday, May 11th, there will be a very important Home-School meeting.  Voting for next year’s officers will take place.  We will also be discussing other topics and value your ideas for next year.  Remember – the class with the most parents attending the meeting will receive a pizza party.  Grade 4 has won the last two times.  It might be nice to have a different class have the party this time.

Friday, May 14th, will be our Spring Concert and Art Show in Conlon Hall at  1:00 PM and again at 7:00 PM .  The cafeteria will be open from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM so you and your family may have some dinner there if you wish.

The children have been practicing for two other events, which are coming up in May:  “Beauty and the Beast” at the Upper Campus on May 21, 22 and 23, and the “Wizard of Oz” at the Lower Campus on May 27.  The Arts at the Academy are really taking top billing this month.

Today, dress-down-day, the money collected for the little child with the physical problems was $240.  Thank you for your kind generosity.
