The mission of Transfiguration Academy is to enable each student to develop to their full potential, meet the challenges of an ever-changing society, and become worthwhile contributors to the community and future leaders of tomorrow. This is accomplished through strengthening faith, enlightening minds and transforming hearts…one student at a time. The Transfiguration Academy Community acknowledges the Board of Pastors as spiritual leaders of the Christian community, parents as primary educators, and teachers as role models, educators, and dispensers of the Christian Message among their students. To fulfill our mission of providing a quality Catholic School Education, we have established these goals:
Religious Goals
- To impart knowledge of the teachings and traditions of Jesus and His Church.
- To enable our students to develop a lifelong relationship with God, celebrating His mysteries through the Liturgy and sacraments.
- To share a genuine sense of community by creating opportunities for our
students to grow in discipline, self-sacrifice and Christian service.
- To provide students with the opportunity to perform Corporal Acts of Mercy.
Academic/Cultural Goals
- To provide an atmosphere encouraging academic excellence and a love of learning among our students.
- To prepare our students to meet the challenges and changes of a highly technological society by offering a skills-oriented program in which students grow and develop fully, according to their individual needs and abilities, enabling them to be worthwhile contributors to the society in which they live.
- To teach students an appreciation of the ideals of our American heritage and the rich contribution of those who have come in search of freedom in a democratic society.
- To develop an appreciation of Fine Arts, by fostering individual talent.
Social Goals
- To maintain a sense of caring, trust, and mutual respect among the members of the Faith Community.
- To provide a safe and nurturing environment in which students can mature intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually to their maximum potential.
- To equip our students with life values that will enable them to act and react
responsibly in an ever-changing local and global community.
- To provide activities for social interaction.
Organization/Leadership Goals
- To interweave lifelong intellectual growth, social development and faith formation in all areas of learning.
- To maintain a strong sense of shared leadership among the Transfiguration Academy Community.
- To create a positive environment for learning, an ongoing curriculum review and evaluation under Archdiocesan Guidelines, and a contemporary curriculum promoting respect for others and an enthusiasm for knowledge.
