Dear Parents,
On behalf of the Board of Pastors, I welcome you, or welcome you back, to our fifth successful year of faith-filled learning at Transfiguration Academy. We are proud of the accomplishments of our past four years, and look forward to even greater achievements in this new academic year of 2010-2011, as we consolidate all of our operations at Bergenfield.
In addition to formal religion classes, there will be many opportunities throughout the year to strengthen Catholic faith.
Regular school and class Masses will supplement the worship experience your children should already enjoy on Sundays with you in your local parish.
Advent and Lent Penance Services will prepare them for the holy seasons of Christmas and Easter. We hope you will participate in our combined parish penance services in Advent and Lent which will be announced in your parish bulletins. We remind you that preparation for first Penance and first Communion, although supplemented at the Academy, is primarily conducted in your local parish. Make sure to be registered with your parish preparation program.
Children will also be part of devotions, including Rosary, Advent Wreath, Stations of the Cross, and May Crowning. Outreach to the poor will also be highlighted in various projects throughout the year.
We are delighted that almost all of our staff is returning, and I continue to be enthused by all that they and we together are able to do, as I am sure you are, too.
We count on you for your financial support through timely payment of tuition through the SMART program, participation in our school fund raisers, and your tithe or other offering at Sunday Parish Mass. Your sponsoring parishes assist you in underwriting part of the cost of educating your children. We look forward to continuing cooperation in all aspects of school and parish life.
