Transfiguration Academy’s foreign language curriculum prepares each student to use their language proficiency to effectively communicate in a global society. The focus of the program is to instill an understanding of the importance and benefits of speaking a language other than their native language. Transfiguration Academy has a strong foreign language program in which Spanish is studied, practiced, and developed using visual aids, exercises, projects, and working collaboratively. Using these methods help the students communicate effectively and gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures. The curriculum is designed to help the students learn pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, reading, and writing. The program enables students to apply their language skills to engage in meaningful conversations regarding community and culture by comparing life in the United States with that of the Spanish-speaking world. Students participate in 45-minute sessions once a week for grades Pre-K through 4 and four times a week for grades 5 through 8.
